the gallery as performance and exercise room


Since 2002, the Gallery of the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig is a white cube, a place for neutral presentation of art objects. Looking for a “new form of use”, I stumbled upon the former use as a gym. For a period of two weeks the gallery was temporarily converted back into a sports hall, with a diverse programme created by the project cooperative. A space in which the acting bodies and the process oriented approach where emphasized.
